M Power: a Library and Study Centre: a joint initiative of Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai

M Power Library and Study Centre is located in M-East ward of Mumbai, one of the poorest wards in the city with nearly 70% population living in slums. It is anchored by the Transforming M Ward Project which itself was initiated in 2011, by TISS in its Platinum Jubilee Year as a response to the finding of the Human Development Report, Mumbai of 2009 pegging the M/E ward as the lowest ranking on most Human Development Indices including education. Since then the Project has partnered with key stakeholders such as the Community members, Policy Makers, Bureaucrats and CSR to address these development deficits. Download Report
