Collaborations

The TISS has over the years build bridges with many Universities across the world. We have signed MoUs and/or have developed linkage with some prestigious international Universities.

Collaboration with International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC)

The International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Tata Institute for Social Sciences (TISS) have established an on-line Certificate Course on Disaster Management. This initiative is in line with IFRC's Strategy 2020, Strategic Aim 1: "Save lives, protect livelihoods, and strengthen recovery from disasters and crises" and TISS's commitment to excellence in disaster management education. The programme provides an on line learning platform through the blend of academic excellence and practical experiences . It reaches individuals from various backgrounds. Having a diverse set of participants across the globe, the course aims to bridge the gap between theoretical approach to emergency management and practical approach to reduce vulnerabilities and building resilience. It is of 22 credits and broadly covers 8 modules over a period of 12 months. The assessment method includes assignments, quiz and discussion forum. Also, there is a component of supervised and graded term paper and field practicum of one month in the final module. For more details, visit: http://ifrc.tiss.edu
