In this project we are leveraging existing partnerships and past work in Mizoram as a launch pad for Connected Learning Initiative 3.0: Mizoram - Support Unit for Integration of Technology in Education (MZ-SUITE). We were and are the only technology initiative working in the area of school and teacher education in the state since 2015. Our past work has proved the importance of leveraging technology in education. We propose the following theory of change based on a unique philanthropic-public partnership with universities, government institutions and schools directly connected to enhance teacher-preparedness and strengthen the systems in the state to meaningfully integrate technology in teaching-learning processes.
Our work relies on cultivating and nurturing local partnerships. Our current implementation partner Mizoram University (MZU) has close connections with the various departments of Education - SCERT, Samagra Shiksha and the Directorate of School Education - and is a hub for teacher training and policy advocacy. It will continue its role in enabling informed contextualisation of innovative practices leveraging technology
Project Objectives:
Skilling teachers and pre-service teachers with digital competencies and sharing design principles and guidelines for meaningful use of technology will enable them to integrate edtech in their practice.
Integrating practice and enabling reflection on practice with sustained mentoring through a Community of Practice using WhatsApp/Telegram and nurturing direct university-school nexus will deepen learning and inform and enhance teaching-learning processes.
Focusing on thoughtful, constructivist integration of technology by teachers will enable students to gain agency and become active learners with a focus on holistic learning outcomes preparing them to be future-ready.
Collaborating with local partners for contextualisation and assimilation of the initiative will
ensure sustainability beyond the project cycle.
The project will benefit:
Schools: 20
Teachers: 60
Students: 800 (Direct) | 10,000 (Indirect and accrued)
