Dr. Vinod K. Mishra is an urban economist and public policy scholar with over 14 years of experience in teaching, research, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as Associate Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. His research engagement is centrally focused on public policy and governance, with particular emphasis on urban transformation, inclusive city-making, and evidence-based policy frameworks. His areas of specialization include monitoring and evaluation of social programmes, data science, public policy on housing and urban development, climate change and urban resilience, and the analysis of large-scale datasets. He has made significant contributions to understanding housing inequalities, rural–urban migration, and access to basic services. Dr. Mishra has supervised doctoral research across themes such as residential segregation, tribal health, and welfare access, and actively informs public policy design, implementation, and evaluation aimed at advancing inclusive development.
