I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Policy and Governance, TISS Hyderabad, where I teach courses to students across the various MA in Public Policy programmes at the intersection of economics, law, and public policy including Economic Analysis of Public Policy, Public Economics, and Development Economics for Public Policy. I also co-teach a Policy Area Concentration (PAC) to MA Public Policy and Governance comprising three papers on Regulations and Institutions.

My research and teaching specialise in regulation and institutions, with a particular focus on how regulatory frameworks shape and are in turn shaped by the structure of markets and corporate power in India. My doctoral work at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, JNU, examined corporate governance in India's corporate sector. This continues to anchor my broader interest in the political economy of the Indian corporate sector, financial regulation, and, more recently on examining various regulatory dimensions of digital and other key sectors of the economy.

Before joining TISS Hyderabad, I was briefly a Visiting Faculty at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, where I designed and taught a course on corporate governance and financial regulation in India. I have also taught political economy courses at Ambedkar University Delhi. Over the last decade, I have worked as a researcher with various government organisations and other entities on projects concerning taxation, political economy and industrial regulation.

I currently also serve as Faculty Coordinator for the MA in Law and Public Policy Programme at TISS Hyderabad.

Mohit's research interests include regulation and institutions; corporate governance and family-owned business groups; political economy and financial regulation.
