Dr. Bal Nagorao Rakshase is a distinguished Professor at the Mumbai Campus, serving in the Centre for Health Policy, Planning, and Management within the School of Health Systems Studies. His academic journey began with a graduation in English, Sociology, and Psychology from Milind College of Arts, Dr. B. A. M. U. Aurangabad, followed by a post-graduation in Psychology from the same institution. Dr. Rakshase further advanced his academic pursuits by obtaining a Ph.D. from the University of Pune. Dr. Rakshase's expertise spans Mental Health, HIV/AIDS, Tribal Health Issues, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Health Education and Communication, Community Engagement for Health, Social and Behavioral Influences on Health, and Organizational Behavior. His multidisciplinary approach and extensive knowledge contribute significantly to health policy, planning, and management. Beyond academia, Dr. Rakshase is dedicated to exploring and addressing critical health challenges through a comprehensive understanding of societal and organizational dynamics.
Courses Taught: Dr. Rakshase specializes in teaching Health Education and Communication, Community Engagement for Health, Social and Behavioral Influences on Health, and Organizational Behavior. These courses equip students with essential knowledge in effective communication strategies, community involvement in health initiatives, understanding societal influences on health behaviours, and insights into organizational dynamics within the healthcare sector. Dr. Rakshase's teaching approach emphasizes the development of well-rounded professionals for effective health policy and management.
Research Interests: Dr. Bal Nagorao Rakshase's research focuses on Maternal Health, HIV/AIDS, Tribal Health Issues, and Sexual and Reproductive Health. His work contributes valuable insights to understanding and mitigating challenges in these critical health domains. Through dedicated research efforts, Dr. Rakshase aims to address and enhance health outcomes, particularly in mental well-being, infectious diseases, and the unique health concerns of tribal communities.
