Anita Rath is an economist by training. She has about 25 years of experience in teaching and research. Her areas of interest are Public Finance and Public Choice. She has been working on fiscal sustainability, taxation, federalism, local finance, poverty and inequality, income support programmes for poor, and of late, on climate finance. She has carried out research studies sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, National Minority Commission, Public Sector Companies, Municipal Corporations of major cities and other parastatal agencies. She has also received research sponsorships from Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Massachusetts, USA. She has been a member of committees constututed by the government (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India)/ government departments.
