Dr. Anand Dodamani, formerly Head of the Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, has made impactful contributions to education and information management throughout his career.
He has previously served as the Nodal Officer for the Government of India’s PM One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme for Deemed to be Universities, enhancing access to academic resources nationwide. He has also been a past Member of the Academic Council and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at TISS, contributing to institutional policy-making and quality enhancement initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Anand has held diverse roles in institutions such as the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka; Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai; Pillai's College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Navi Mumbai; and Hashu Advani College of Special Education (Hearing Impairment), Mumbai. He holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Karnatak University, Dharwad, and continues to mentor Ph.D. scholars at TISS.
Dr. Anand's academic achievements include impactful publications in national and international journals, leadership in research projects funded by TISS and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and prestigious awards such as the Emerald South Asia LIS Research Fund Award and the ICSSR-NRCT Bilateral Programme Fellowship. Most recently, he was awarded a Research Fellowship at Metharath University, Thailand, for the period 2024–2027.
Dr. Anand has delivered numerous invited talks and workshops across India, covering essential topics such as Academic Integrity, Plagiarism Prevention, Reference Management Tools, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in research. These engagements have enabled him to share his expertise and promote ethical practices within the academic community.
Known for his dynamic and interactive teaching style, Dr. Anand incorporates practical activities and real-world examples to engage students and foster a deeper understanding of the subject. His dedication to academic excellence and the library and information science profession continues to leave a lasting impact on the field.
