Akhilesh K.S. Yadav is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS). Prior to this position, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science at Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh and as a Research Associate at Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, Haryana. He completed his B.A. (Hons.) in A.I.H.C. & Archaeology and MLISc from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library and Information Science from Mizoram University (A Central University), Aizawl, Mizoram.

Throughout his career, he has actively participated in various seminars and workshops and has published numerous research papers in research journals and conference proceedings and also edited a book on "Changing Landscape of LIS Education and Research". He served as the editor of the 'International Journal of Information Research' for 7 years. In his teaching capacity, he teaches master's level students in knowledge discovery and data management, information storage and retrieval, school library and information systems and digital scholarship.

Furthermore, he has been honored with the 2023 Takeshi Murofushi Research Award by the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL), USA, and was also recognized as the recipient of the 2021 Emerald SLINBAM LIS Research Fund Award from Emerald Publishing Limited, United Kingdom.
