"Every home can have a hero, and every trained individual can make a difference."
On 15 October 2026, the TISS Mumbai Health Centre and the Office of Students’ Affairs (OSA), in collaboration with Fortis Group of Hospitals, organised cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for students and staff. The initiative aimed to strengthen emergency preparedness and equip the campus community with practical, life-saving skills.
Dr. Manjeet Singh Arora, known as the “CPR Man of India” and a Guinness World Records holder, led two sessions at the TISS Convention Centre. A national trainer in first aid and CPR, he demonstrated essential techniques, explained key dos and don’ts, and guided participants through hands-on practice.
The sessions were part of Dr. Arora’s "Har Ghar Hero" initiative, which promotes access to life-saving skills for everyone. About 500 TISS students and staff participated, gaining practical knowledge to respond with confidence and care in an emergency.
The TISS Health Centre and the OSA support the health, safety, and well-being of the TISS community through initiatives that promote health awareness and emergency preparedness. Dr. Nilesh Gawde (Chairperson, TISS Health Centre); Prof. Mariappan Muthiah (Dean, OSA); Dr. Vaishali Kolhe (Associate Dean, OSA); Dr. J. Shivarama (Assistant Dean, OSA); the OSA team; and members of the TISS Student Council were present at the event.
