Archived

Venue: S. Parasuraman Hall, TISS Mumbai

The Centre for Human Resources Managements and Labour Relations, School of Management and Labour Studies, TISS Mumbai, UNI Global Union-Professional and Managers Group  and All India Bank of Baroda Officers Association had jointly organized International Seminar on “Re-imagining Work for India’s Young Professionals: Addressing Toxic Culture and Digital Stress” on 12th September, 2025 at S.Parasuraman Hall, TISS Mumbai.

This seminar brought together leaders from academia, trade unions, corporate HR, and young professionals to deliberate on the rising challenges of toxic work culture, workplace stress, and the digital transformation of employment. Through keynote addresses, thematic paper presentations, insight sessions, panel discussions, and student reflections, the event highlighted the multiple dimensions of the problem: mental health crises, overwork, digital overload, algorithmic management, weakening of unions, and eroding work-life balance.

The proceedings revealed that the issue is not just organizational but a societal and global crisis, requiring collective responses. Participants stressed the urgent need for cultural change, stronger social dialogue, policy interventions like the Right to Disconnect, and a redefinition of productivity that values dignity and sustainability alongside efficiency.
