Workshop on Mindfulness & Presence in Psychotherapy

Archived

April 23, 2025 - April 25, 2025

Venue: TISS Campus, Mumbai

Centre for Life Long Learning, TISS, in partnership with JustBeing, is hosting an engaging workshop, focusing on 'Mindfulness and Presence of a Therapist/ Mental Health Professional in Psychotherapy'.

The therapist's presence is a crucial, often unseen, element of transformative change within the therapeutic process. Mindfulness, as an embodied practice for the practitioner, unlocks this potential. This workshop will emphasise 'being' a therapist, alongside the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the therapeutic space. It will adopt a trans-diagnostic and holistic approach to therapy.

This three-day experiential workshop will highlight:

  • Mindfulness & Presence: How, through mindfulness practice, we can cultivate a sense of presence as practitioners within the therapeutic relationship.
  • Relational Safety: How we can meet our own experiences and those of our clients, fostering a sense of inherent safety within the relational space.
  • Somatic Integration: How we can incorporate somatic practices to integrate mind-body experiences in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Supporting Clients: How we can assist clients in engaging with their experiences from a place of presence and deep connection.

Who is this for?

  • Practising Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Mental Health Professionals and Psychiatrists.
