Empowering young minds through India’s knowledge systems and legal traditions.

On 27 March 2026, the School of Law, Rights and Constitutional Governance, TISS, Mumbai, organised the Viksit Bharat Series Panel Discussion on Indigenous Legal Traditions, bringing together eminent academicians and legal luminaries, including Justice Ravikumar Rameshwardayal Tripathi (Retd. Judge, Gujarat High Court), Prof. R. Venkata Rao (Vice-Chancellor, India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER), Goa), and Prof. Anju Vali Tikoo (Dean and Head, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi).

The session was moderated by Prof. Aseem Prakash (Campus Director, TISS Hyderabad) and chaired by Prof. Arvind Tiwari (Senior Professor, SLRCG, TISS). The discussion had the presence of Dr. Narendra Mishra (Officiating Registrar, TISS) and was presided over by Prof. Gordhan Saini (Officiating. Dean, SLRCG).

The discussion sparked meaningful conversations on law, justice, and public policy, rooted in Bharatiya Gyaan Parampara and aligned with the vision of National Education Policy 2020.

The event also marked the release of a brochure on Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS), edited and compiled by Dr. Sonali Kusum (Course Teacher, IKS, SLRCG), highlighting the course framework, learning objectives, and emerging areas of research at the intersection of law and humanities.

Celebrating knowledge, innovation, and legacy as part of the TISS NAVATI Celebration, marking 90 years of academic excellence and societal impact.
