Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) proudly celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with a spirit of patriotism, unity and pride.

The celebrations were preceded by an enthusiastic Tiranga Yatra, in which our students marched proudly with the Tricolour from the TISS Naoroji Campus to the Main Campus, spreading the message of unity, patriotism and national pride.

The celebrations commenced with Vande Mataram, followed by the ceremonial flag hoisting by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, in the esteemed presence of our distinguished guests.

We were honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Padma Shri Shri Dada Idate, Special Guest Prof. D. K. Srivastava, Former Vice Chairman, UGC, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Officiating Registrar Dr. Narendra Mishra, faculty members, officers, staff and students.

Dr. Vaishali Kolhe, Associate Dean, Students’ Affairs, welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and guests, while Dr. Josephine Anthony, Assistant Dean, Students’ Affairs, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The programme featured inspiring addresses by the dignitaries, followed by vibrant cultural performances by our students, celebrating the diversity, heritage and spirit of our nation.

On this special occasion, TISS reaffirms its commitment to the values of justice, equality, inclusion and social transformation that contribute to building a stronger and more progressive India.
