With immense pleasure, we are announcing that the TISS Tuljapur Off Campus is organizing a One Week National Workshop on “Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries” on 27-31 Jan 2025 at TISS Tuljapur Off Campus, Tuljapur.
About the Workshop
As libraries evolve into physical, hybrid and digital spaces, the need for effective management of both digital and physical collections is critical. It is also imperative that library professionals have the skills to use advanced reference management tools & AI technologies to train their library users. DSpace and KOHA are two leading open-source software platforms that provide seamless library management. KOHA, a comprehensive library management system (LMS), supports cataloguing, circulation, and acquisitions, while DSpace is an institutional repository system for managing, preserving, and sharing digital content. This One Week National Workshop is designed to provide participants with hands-on training on DSpace, KOHA, Reference Management Tools & AI Technologies. At the end of the workshop the participants will be equipped with the skills to use these technologies effectively to enhance the experience of their library users. Further, this workshop will be beneficial for the CAS purpose.
Objectives of the Workshop
The workshop enables the participants to;
gain an in-depth understanding of Emerging Trends & Technologies in the Library.
learn to install, configure, and customize KOHA for library automation and DSpace for digital content management.
develop practical skills in cataloguing, circulation, digital archiving, and metadata management.
enhance the ability to manage both physical and digital collections with open-source software.
acquire the skills to train library users in the effective use of advance reference management tools and AI technologies,
collaborate and exchange best practices for implementing and sustaining these systems.

Day 1 & 2: KOHA Library Management System
