We are pleased to announce the third lecture in the M. Subramanian Endowment Lecture Series on Life in Rural India at the Institute.

The endowment has been offered by Mr. M. Subramanian, a 1954 batch IAS officer who retired as Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, GoI in 1986, towards organising an annual lecture by eminent speakers on issues concerning rural society. The lecture series was inaugurated in 2023.

For the third lecture of the series, we are honoured to have Smt. Jyoti Macwan and Smt. Heenaben Dave, the General Secretary and Vice-President of SEWA Bharat respectively. SEWA Bharat is an all-India federation that extends direct support to institutions serving SEWA affiliated women workers in 18 states. It has successfully promoted women's empowerment with a key focus on financial autonomy and skill development. SEWA has also been at the forefront of deploying technology that enhances the lives and livelihoods of its members.

The lecture will be held on November 8th, 2024 at 5.30 pm, starting with tea and snacks at the S. Parasuraman Conference Hall, TISS Main Campus, followed by the lecture.
