Hena Khatun is working as an Assistant Professor, School of Rural Development, Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS), Tuljapur since 2023. Prior to joining TISS Tuljapur, she worked as a Teaching Assistant (TA) at IIT Dhanbad. She has a PhD from IIT Dhanbad where she explored the relation between development and Naxal violence and the role of the Indian state in it. Her research interests include, Sociology of Development, Development in Conflict Zones, State-Building, Gender and Sexuality. She produced research articles on development issues in reputed journals. She also has working experience with a few Non-Governmental Organizations both in Kolkata and Jharkhand.
