Venue: Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai

The training will be a two-week foundation course for persons working on violence against women with both State systems and civil-society organisations across India. It aims to build & strengthen survivor-centric response skills, perspective and knowledge on violence against women from the Special Cells for Women approach. This is a pro-woman perspective that helps empower the woman survivor to help her attain what she wants. It focuses on working with State systems, especially the Criminal Justice System. It is based on the month-long induction training developed by the Resource Centre for Interventions on Violence Against Women for social workers of the Special Cells for Women. It intends to expand the community of 850 crisis-intervention personnel who have already been trained by us and are currently working in VAW response mechanisms. The course will be conducted by social workers and coordinators of the Special Cells for Women, as well as other team members of the RCI-VAW who coordinate & provide capacity support to Special Cells for Women, Protection Officers and 181 Women Helplines of various states.

The last date for applying is 4th February, 2019. This deadline has been changed from the earlier deadline of 17th February because of the high number of applications we are getting. We also think people will need some time to book their tickets and therefore the deadline has been shifted to the 4th.
