On the glorious eve of 84th Convocation of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai , the  School of Law, Rights & Constitutional Governance(SLRCG), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai congratulates its 11th successful batch of LL.M students of 2023- 2024,  having successfully completed One Year Full Time Master’s in Law Programme in Access to Justice graduating during this convocation.

The SLRCG takes this opportunity to present it’s “SLRCG Young Alumni Impact Series: Law & Social Transformation, 2024” , taken after the TISS, Mumbai Institute’s Office of Alum Affairs (OAA) initiative of “Young Alumni Impact Series”, which was initiated by the TISS Mumbai Institute in July 2023. The  Office of Alumni Affairs (OAA) at the institute level in TISS, Mumbai, was formally launched on December, 30 2022. In order to give effect to the “University Grants Commission” (UGC) Circular on “Student Career Progression & Alumni Network” 2019.  Further, the UGC, circular on “Alumni connect initiative”, 2021, to encourage Indian Higher Education Authorities (HEIs) to engage with Alumni.

The SLRCG belives that alumni are significant stakeholders in the University, and the alumni interactions promote the industry and academia connect as per the National Educational Policy ( NEP) 2020, towards facilitating professional and career opportunities for the present batch.

The SLRCG has a rich and diversified alumni base including, alumni working in the field of litigation and practicing at Courts ranging from Trial Court to Supreme Court, from Civil Society and Government Legal Services Authority for legal empowerment are identified to participate and share their experiences for the benefit of the present batch of students.

The “SLRCG Young Alumni Impact Series promotes the theme of “Law & Social Transformation, 2024”. This theme of “Law & Social Transformation, 2024” is in keeping with the vision and mission of SLRCG and the curriculum of LL.M in Access to Justice Programme. This SLRCG Young Alumni Impact Series: Law & Social Transformation, 2024” brings forth an avenue for the alumni to deliberate and showcase, their academic and professional journey towards engaging in diverse legal arena with the focus to promote social transformation. The Alumni’s academic and professional growth inspires and motivates the present batch to pursue future prospects. This also, offers an opportunity for the School to connect with the alumni on further strengthening academic activities through the alumni’s dynamic cooperation.

The objectives of “SLRCG Young Alumni Impact Series: Law & Social Transformation, 2024” are as following:

To generate a constructive dialogue between the present batch of LL.M students and alumni so as to inspire and motivate the students to work towards the vision and mission of SLRCG as Law & Social Transformation.
To foster a continuing relationship between the institute and the alumni by harnessing their contribution to teaching, research, field-based activities, and clinical legal activities to enrich the curriculum.
To facilitate professional and career opportunities for the present batch, so as to boost the industry – academic connect as promoted by National Educational Policy ( NEP) 2020.
