Workshop on Qualitative Data Analysis

Venue: Class room number 13 (for the session from 10:00 to 1:00 pm) in Main campus, class room number 9 for the session from 2:00 to 5:00 in Main campus.


Who can participate in the workshop on literature review?

  1. Doctoral scholars registered at TISS who have completed a part of of data collection or who have finished data collection.
  2. Scholars who are willing to participate for the full day without missing a single session. Students will be expected to come on time for the workshop.

Pedagogy

The workshop will be intensive and rigrous and hence the maximum number of participants will be restricted to 15. The student is expected to come to the workshop with transcripts of five indepth interviews.

Preparation to be done by the scholar:

  1. The scholar should bring hard copies of the transcripts of five indepth interviews.
  2. The student should bring a laptop so that he/she can analyze the data during practice sessions.Please charge the laptop fully as enough plug points may not be there in the classroom.

In your email text please mention the stage of your data collection and also whether you have five transcripts of indepth interviews ready.

About the Faciliator: Dr.Hemant Apte, an anthropologist, is practicing for the past 25 years. His core specialization is in the area of Qualitative Research. He has conducted a number of workshops on Research Methods. He has been a consultant to various national and international organizations. He has many publications in national and international journals. He has edited a couple of books. He is a writer and poet and has published over half a dozen books. Currently he is a consultant to NLR Foundation for qualitative research in leprosy, in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Dr. Apte is the chair of the Ethics and Research Committee of the Foundation for research in Health Systems, Bengaluru and Saheli- HIV AIDS Karyakarta Sangh, Pune.He has won several awards.
