Workshop for Research Scholars on getting your work published

Who can participate in the workshop?

  1. Doctoral scholars registered with any school or centre except the School of Management and Labour Studies.
  2. Only those scholars who have a draft paper based on their phd work and are aiming to publish them as journal article/s. The paper can be of any kind (an empirical paper,a theoretical paper, a paper based on methodology etc). The paper should have all the essential components: title, abstract, references etc.
  3. Scholars who are willing to participate in all the three days of the workshop without missing any session.

Pedagogy

The workshop will be intensive and rigrous and hence the maximum number of participants will be restricted to 10. Each student will be given feedback on his/her paper. There will be practice sessions where students will refine their papers.

Preparation to be done by the scholar:

  1. The scholar should bring a draft of a paper he or she is planning to submit to a journal. Please bring a hard copy of your paper for the workshop.
  2. Please send a soft copy of your draft paper to Dr Tara Korti at tara.korti@tiss.edu. Registrations are limited and will be confirmed only after submission of the soft copy.
  3. The student should bring a laptop so that he/she can work on his/her paper during the practice session.

About the Faciliator: Dr.Hemant Apte, an anthropologist, is practicing for the past 25 years. His core specialization is in the area of Qualitative Research. He has conducted a number of workshops on Research Methods. He has been a consultant to various national and international organizations. He has many publications in national and international journals. He has edited a couple of books. He is a writer and poet and has published over half a dozen books. Currently he is a consultant to NLR Foundation for qualitative research in leprosy, in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Dr. Apte is the chair of the Ethics and Research Committee of the Foundation for research in Health Systems, Bengaluru and Saheli- HIV AIDS Karyakarta Sangh, Pune.He has won several awards.
