Two Day Training Workshop on Business Continuity Management

Overview of the Workshop:

We live in uncertain times. The idea of business continuity management (BCM) is the creation of a strategy through the recognition of threats and risks facing a company, with an eye to ensure that personnel and assets are protected and able to function in the event of a disaster. Risk Management is gaining greater attention and recognition within Corporates and Boards are keen to ensure that the organisations are risk protected and have a management plan in place. Globally, companies are now looking to employ professionals who can effectively manage diverse operational risks, so that their employees, systems and business operations are not impacted. However, there is acute shortage of well honed, professionally knowledgeable people who can manage these specialist functions.

Objectives of the Workshop:

  1. To introduce fundamentals of Business Continuity Management to participants.
  2. To prepare participants to manage crisis situations within organisations by considering various factors at play.
  3. To enable participants to examine and understand career paths in BCM in industry/ corporates.

This two day training workshop would cover the basics of Business Continuity Management and would familiarize the participants with the following key concepts and practices of BCM:

  1. Need for BCM and its evolution
  2. BCM Life Cycle
  3. IT Disaster Recovery
  4. Business Impact Analysis – Theory and Practice
  5. Risk Assessment
  6. Recovery Strategies-Importance of getting it right
  7. Documenting Business Continuity Plans -Why, What, How and When
  8. Exercising and Testing of Plans –Significance
  9. Incident Response and Crisis Management
  10. BCM Awareness and Training
  11. BCM Standards across the globe
  12. Real Life Case Studies and Lessons Learnt
