The M.S. Gore Policy Research Group, TISS, in collaboration with Paperwall Media, is pleased to invite you to its first event of the semester, “The Politics of Poetry”, on the 22nd November, 2016. The M.S. Gore Policy Research Group is a student forum for policy-related research and advocacy at the Centre for Public Policy, Habitat & Human Development, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

The event will be marked by K Satchidanandan, an eminent Indian poet, critic, and public intellectual, introducing his collected works entitled ‘The Missing Rib’, and Zingonia Zingone, a celebrated Spanish poet, Italian novelist, and multilingual translator, releasing her book ‘Light, The Temptation’. Prof H. S. Shivaprakash, a leading Kannada poet and playwright, and professor at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Maria Pallais, a bilingual journalist, editor and writer, visiting fellow, University of Mysore, have also kindly consented to be our guest-speakers. Hemant Divate, poet, translator and publisher, and Prof Ashwani Kumar will introduce the speakers. Dr Sandhya Iyer (coordinator for PRG) will moderate the event. Prof Shalini Bharat, Deputy Director, TISS will welcome the guest-speakers.
