As part of M.S, Gore Centenary Colloquium Series, the School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) is pleased to invite you to a talk by Prof Sandeep Tambe, (IFS) Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, on his recent book, "Teaching and Learning Rural Livelihoods" (Springer)

Prof Sandeep Tambe is a member of the Indian Forest Service and has diverse work experience in government, NGO, and academic institutions. He served 16 years in Sikkim state in the forest and rural development departments. Presently as a professor at IIFM, he teaches forest policy and law courses, rural planning and livelihoods, natural resource management, and project management. He played a vital role in formulating the draft National Forest Policy 2018. He has authored 20 research papers and penned five books.

Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Dean, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) will welcome the speaker and moderate the panel discussion. And discussant for this talk would be Prof P Gopinath, Chairperson, Centre for Developing Economies, SDS, TISS.

The M.S. Gore Public Policy Colloquium Series is an initiative to engage with policy research, advocacy, and leadership in public service. Beginning in 2013, it is dedicated to the life and pioneering work of Prof. M.S. Gore. Prof. M.S. Gore (August 15, 1921 - November 19, 2010) was a celebrated social scientist, academic, and writer. He was an eminent alumnus and former director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, former chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, and former vice-chancellor of Mumbai University. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the country's third-highest civilian honor for his outstanding contribution to social sciences. His contribution to social work and academia has left a lasting impression on generations of researchers.
