M.S. Gore Centenary Colloquium Series at the School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) is pleased to invite you to a talk on "Making ends meet: Precarity during Covid-19 in the USA" with Dr Sejuti Das Gupta,presently, an Assistant Professor at James Madison College, Michigan State University(USA)

The session's inaugural address will be by Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Dean, School of Development Studies.

The session will be chaired by Prof. P. Gopinath, Chairperson, Centre for Study of Developing Economies, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai)

The session will be in conversation with Prof. R Ramakumar, Centre for Study of Developing Economies, School of Development Studies.

The M.S. Gore Colloquium Series is an initiative of School of Development Studies to engage with policy research, advocacy and leadership in public service. Beginning in 2013, it is dedicated to the life and pioneering works of Prof. M.S. Gore. The Colloquium Committee is mentored by Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Dean, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) since 2013.

Prof. M.S. Gore (August 15, 1921 - November 19, 2010) was a celebrated social scientist, academic, and writer. He was an eminent alumnus and former director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, former chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, and former vice-chancellor of Mumbai University. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian honour in the country, for his outstanding contribution to social sciences. His contribution to social work and academia has left a lasting impression on generations of researchers.

The series includes a set of interactive panel discussions with some of the most notable stakeholders in the government and civil policy space. The event is organised in collaboration with the SDS Research Scholars Forum (SDSRSF) of the School of Development Studies, TISS (Mumbai)
