Ministry of Tribal Affairs and CBSE jointly launched an online certificate course on Experiential Learning for the 21st Century for EMRS and CBSE teachers

The Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Shri Anil Kumar Jha and Chairman, CBSE, Shri Manoj Ahuja, jointly launched a certificate course on Experiential Learning for the 21st Century for educators from the CBSE board and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) system in collaboration with Tata Trusts; CETE, TISS (Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education, Tata Institute of Social Sciences), Mumbai and MGIS (Mahatma Gandhi International School), Ahmedabad.

The course is being offered to 350 educators across 6 States: Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tripura.

This course is an initiative of CBSE and Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) in collaboration with Tata Trusts, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and Mahatma Gandhi International School (MGIS), Ahmedabad. A team of experts was drawn from these institutions, who collaborated in the development and implementation of the course. 

Tata Trusts anchored the entire program and convened with multiple stakeholders, the faculty from CETE, TISS have designed the course while the expert mentors from MGIS (Ahmedabad) have provided practitioner-level contributions.  All three institutions, Tata Trusts, TISS, and MGIS, together run the course hosted on TISSx, an Open edX-based MOOC platform (https://www.tissx.tiss.edu).
