Critical Edge Alliance (CEA) International Conference 2023 began in Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), Morocco spread over 5-7 July 2023.

The theme of this years CEA annual conference is “Values in and for Universities: The notion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’.

CEA is an interuniversity alliance founded on principles of critical and innovative educational practices, student centred learning and university society engagements.

AUI President, Dr. Amine Bensaid opened the conference followed by opening remarks by Co-Presidents of the Alliance. Prof. P.K. Shajahan, one of the founder member and currently Co-President of the Alliance highlighted the role of education as process of co-creation of opportunities for advancement human conditions alongside pushing the boundaries of knowledge and aspiration of learners.  The other co-president Prof. Mary Watson of The New School, New York emphasized the role of students, staff and faculty members in driving new learning experiences and moving the idea of the alliance ahead with its various stakeholders. Mr. Rahul Ranjan Raj, PhD scholar from School of Social Work who is the student representative from TISS to the CEA core committee led the student panel and introduced innovative activities undertaken by the students from across the member universities through creative arts and expressions in the form of poster display at the venue as well as an interactive digital poster exhibition.

Two faculty members from Centre for Excellence in Teacher Education Dr. Gomathi Jatin and Dr. Richa Sharma and another PhD scholar from Centre for Studies in Sociology of Education Ms. Shreya Urvashi are also participating in various sessions as presenters at the conference.
