the theme of the event is "The State we are in : India in the age of inequalities"
In his astonishing Nov. 25, 1949 speech in the Constituent Assembly Dr. B.R. Ambedkar saw it coming and predicted the damage inequality would do to us as a nation. Now in the 75th year of our Independence, his words ring true as we try to sense or measure the extent and damage of our many inequalities
In its 75th year as a nation, India is a more unequal society than it has ever been since perhaps the 1870s under British rule. It is vital that we try and measure the extent and damage of our many inequalities.
